How do you deal with your pugs skin allergies?

Hello,

I have a nearly two year old pug who is always scratching and biting at her skin, I've taken her to the vets and they say it's allergies (although they can't confirm what she's allergic to), I take her to the vets, they charge me £60 for tablets and then two weeks later I need to take her again and honestly I can't keep spending £60 every two weeks when it's not improving. She lives with a spaniel and five cats.

Has anyone got any suggestions as the poor thing is so uncomfortable covered in bold patches and rashes and I just want to help her.

Thanks

My French Bulldog has itchy skin to the point that if it is untreated he will scratch himself until he bleeds.

I have used the following:

I hope these will help your dog too.

My first question would be, what are you feeding her on? Lots of commercial dog foods are full of allergens.

Wolfiefan · 21/12/2020 13:15

Definitely look at diet. Chicken is a very common allergen. Switched my girl to raw and cut out chicken and beef and she was so much better.

No chicken (also beef can be a problem) or wheat

Dear Pug eats raw Nutriment (duck) and is washed in Episoothe (proper vet shit but I get it from Amazon)

I find it really important to wash him so that pollen and allergens don't stick to him
