This thread has probably been done several times over but I'm always keen for people's ideas and suggestions!

We have both a kong and a lickmat and I'd love to know what you use and freeze to keep your pup entertained? Xmas Grin

I use Mutt Butter (peanut butter) in the lickmat.

Girlintheframe · 14/12/2020 06:15

Peanut butter - just Aldi stuff that is 100% nuts
Cream cheese
Banana

Kong - tape up one end and freeze oxo
Carrot
Kibble

Toomanycases · 14/12/2020 06:28

In the Kong we put left over mashed potato and veg. On the lick mat we sometimes do mashed banana, natural yoghurt. Squeezy cheese, porridge made with water with banana mashed in (that takes her ages)!

Veterinari · 14/12/2020 07:21

Meat paste - the cheap stuff in small jars that I was forced to have on sandwiches in the 80s.
They particularly like the stinky salmon flavour 🥴

Some great ideas! Thankyou Xmas Grin

@Veterinari Ooh I used to love meat paste! How much do you use? Xmas Smile

A large teaspoon on a lickimat. Take care not to use pâté or anything fancy (too much vitamin A) but the cheap meat paste is fine

Retrievemysanity · 14/12/2020 17:05

Mashed up sardines or soaked kibble on the lickimat, chopped cucumber and apple in the kong or mashed banana and peanut butter.

Cream cheese. He loves it!

midnightstar66 · 20/12/2020 19:23

I always wonder about this as was under the impression dogs do not do well with dairy but always see cream cheese and Greek yogurt as suggestions. I buy the foil trays of wet butchers or naturo complete dog food which is like a smooth pate consistency much like meat paste so I know it's dog friendly and offers nutrition and dpup goes mad for it as she's fed dry food for meals

My vet-friend recommended it when we first got him. He has shown no adverse side-effects
