Wheelie bin dog proofing

My greedy Labrador has taken to pushing over our wheelie bin and shredding the contents to scavenge for any scraps. It happens if she is left in the garden for more than an hour or so and even if I give her a bone or something she obviously find this more entertaining.

Are there any gadgets out there that are easily removable by a human (to make using the bin easy) but impossible for the dog to remove?

She's left unsupervised for an hour? She sounds bored to be honest, dogs get up to no good when they are bored.

She needs training out of it but once you need a solution in the meantime given that training doesn’t happen overnight.

  1. Don’t leave her unsupervised in the garden with the bin

  2. Chain the bin to the fence somehow

  3. Bin lock? I think I’ve seen them on Amazon, maybe?

  4. Move bins to an area where she can’t get to them, around the front or side, if gated off maybe?
