11year old mini. Have just been to the vets as she really wasn’t right. She nearly bit the vet (unlike her) when he pressed on her spine, he said that it’s a disk and could be pinching/bulging. She has had steroid injection and pain killers for 2 weeks. 1.5 hours after injection she seems more comfortable, which is great. The vet said that. Of course Ivdd is a concern due to the breed but to see how she goes. He said it may just be something that flares up and can be managed or it might go badly and she end up with the neurological problems that come with it which then becomes an emergency.... She had an episode seemingly the same a year ago (before she came to me, she is a rescue) but seemed to recover fine after painkillers and rest.
So it could go completely one way or another.... has anyone experience of this just ‘flaring’ up?? She does not jump, does not go upstairs etc etc I was already doing those things so vet is happy that nothing we are doing is going to make her worse. It’s horrible now though as it might get worse? Any experience with this?
