Do they work? Can anybody reccommend a product? I'm at my witts end with my poor dog, he has terrible seperation anxiety and he hate's other dogs with a passion but that's another thread! I am after something i can buy online that will actually work. i don't want him sedated but I'd like something to just help him cope and be less anxious.
TIA

My dog has been terrible since we moved in with my mum. We’ve been using this - www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00E5DK1QG?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title&tag=mumsnetforu03-21 it’s helped her a lot.

Haven't used them but I do believe you can get anti anxiety type meds for dogs from the vet.

Have you been for a vet check up and discussion about the behaviour?

They mostly all work, to some degree, on some dogs. It's a lot of trial and error to see if they help your dog. But none will be the sole answer for him. There is nothing he can take or you can plug in that will mean he is suddenly fine being left.

They have a place as some support alongside a proper behavioir modification plan. Without that plan, you're just wasting time and money. Sorry to be blunt.

If you are not sure how to help a dog with seperation anxiety then please get help from a profaessional to support you and your dog. They can also help with his reactivity - and the liklihood is that both are linked to each other, with each one feeding the other. i.e. a dog that is left alone and struggles with it will be stressed and full of adrenaline, so even more likely to react when seeing another dog. Or a dog that has been walked and seen other dogs is more likely to be wound up and so struggle even more when left.

Thank you for the suggestions

If he has separation phobia then he needs proper anti anxiety meds (not sedation) and a counter conditioning programme. Nothing you buy over the counter will help.
You need a veterinary behaviourist - see the APBC website
