Preparing for rescue puppy (and guess the mix!)

After nearly a year of looking, we are adopting a puppy from Cyprus. We’ve had rescue dogs in the past, but always older lurchers and from the UK. Never owned a puppy.

I’m having a read of old posts, but grateful for recommendations of essential books (if any), a suitable bed, and top tips for the first days/weeks. He was found alone at about 6weeks old, but thankfully is in a foster home.

Would also welcome thoughts on what he might be. I think possibly a lab hound mix?

Meant to say, he’ll be about six months by the time he arrives.

I would say quite a lot of Labrador. Very cute!

I would suggest lots of toys. I used a crate but more of a safe place for the puppy, didn’t actually shut the door much apart from when I had young visitors and sometimes when we were eating.

I fund training classes very useful, plus socialisation.

Cyprus is quite a journey. How is he getting here?

Looks like he has lab or golden retriever in him. He looks very sweet.
