Jack-Tzu, anyone?

Hi all! Our gorgeous girl is 13 weeks old now and we have had her for 2 weeks. All going well but I did want to chat to other Jack Russel/Shi-Tzu cross owners to hear about your doggies!

Pup is quite docile most of the time and only barks when really playing. She is getting used to walks out and about but she is really little so a bit scared of cars and noises.

She is very cuddly.

My son has really grown in confidence since having the dog which is great to see. She’s been our for a walk and a play in the garden then is having her nap now. She loves a nap!

@Orkneys I know, I was being a bit facetious about the cross/mongrel thing. I do know the difference I was just trying to say we aren’t there putting a diamond collar on her and stuffing her in a LV carry case.

We are just happy to have a sweet dog who we love and will take care of. She’s brought us a great deal of joy so far.

She's gorgeous she looks more jack than shih tzu not that it matters. Enjoy.

Ooh I'd love one like that! I had shih tzus for many many years and we currently have a tan terrier - cairn/Lakeland x he looks quite like her! We all adore him, such a funny little character - very loving but very gobby.

Oh I love the look of a lakie...they are so handsome.

OP we are getting our shih tzu x jrt tomorrow, hopefully. She looks more like a Shih tzu. I wonder why some look more shih tzu than others and some more jack.

OP, your pup is adorable. Fingers crossed she stays chilled, we’ve had a couple of jrt on the farm and they’ve all been mad as a box of frogs 😬

Mumsnet is full of dog owners throwing shade on anyone's love and enjoyment of their dog if it's not a pure pedigree, pointing out it's a mongrel as if anyone cares! It's just snobbery like any other by people who get their self worth by making others feel less. Ignore and enjoy your dog like all us other mongrel/cross/ owners .

Nah, MN is full of people throwing shade on greedy, amoral assholes breeding dogs for £££, and the naive, image obsessed twats who support that sickening industry.

@Atalune sorry you are getting the usual grief about a cross.

On here anyone who hasn't waited years for a litter of KC reg pedigrees where the breeder doesn't advertise and you've sought them out from dog shows is apparently stupid and greedy.

Personally, as long as the breeders have health tested parents (not just checked at the vets) and breeders aren't just doing it for a quick income boost, I don't care about crosses.

The doghouse people are bloody mad when it comes to crossbreeds. Your puppy is gorgeous op.

The 'image obsessed twats' might just be people with allergies who haven't previously been able to have a dog and who love their dog to bits, look after it and train it excellently and bought it from an ethical breeder.
But that doesn't fit the narrow minded MN narrative.

Enjoy your pedigree, I'll enjoy my mongrel/ whatever/ who cares what she's called, she's the best!

I have a Jack Russell X ShihTzu. She looks like a fluffy jack Russell but with the Shihtzu ears. Nice temperament but barks a lot and drives us nuts. Good with other dogs and children and very affectionate. Wouldn't be without her. She's a rescue, we had her from a puppy as she was unwanted. I posted a thread about her about a year ago but people on here were so nasty to me and I have no idea why! I had some really horrid remarks! @Atalune your dog is beautiful. I think all dogs are beautiful regardless of what they are crossed with or what breed they are. Seems to be an issue on here for some reason!
