Help me replace this beloved toy!

Our dog is OBSESSED with her elephant toy (picture attached, I hope!). As you can see, it's rather the worse for wear ... we think we've looked everywhere, but can any clever Mumsnetters find us a replacement?

Many thanks in advance from a very hopeful dog!

And, of course, I forgot to attach the picture ...

I think Pets Corner sell this range

BessSedgwick · 25/10/2020 17:22

Oh, thank you - it does look similar, but they don't have the elephant. Perhaps it's out of stock?

Failing finding an exact replacement I'd buy the closest I could find and then put the new and old toy together in a sealed bag for a few days - in the hope some scent would rub off and help transfer affections...

Thank you for the idea! We've tried loads of other toys, but none of them quite hits the spot - honestly, this is worse than replacing a toddler's favourite toy!

A bit of Google detective-work has ascertained it is a Hugglehounds Elephant with X Brace (found one on Pinterest, but sadly no link to a shop). There is a logo at the top of the image that says Tuffuy.

Haven’t managed to find any for sale online yet, but if you put ‘hugglehounds elephant knottie x brace’ into Google images you can see it and pick up the link to Pinterest.

moosemama · 25/10/2020 21:32

Sorry, it’s a Hugglehounds elephant ‘knottie’ with X brace.

moosemama · 25/10/2020 21:35

Manufacturer’s website in the US

Looks like that range might be discontinued, but you might be able to get something close to it.

moosemama · 25/10/2020 21:38

Narrowed it down. Seems it a ‘ www.amazon.co.uk/Hugglehounds-Durable-Squeaky-Construction-Elephant/dp/B007X8AMKA?tag=mumsnetforu03-21 ‘Magnus the Elephant’]]. Sadly no longer available on Amazon UK.

moosemama · 25/10/2020 21:39

Dagnabit, link fail!

Magnus the Elephant.

moosemama · 25/10/2020 21:40

Honestly! I give up. First link works, second one doesn’t for some reason, but you get the gist. Good luck!

BessSedgwick · 26/10/2020 09:17

Oh, gosh, you are a detective wizard!! Thank you so much! Now - do I want it enough to spend $40 on it (plus shi[[ing) from America ...?!

No problem, I love a bit of Google detective-work! Grin

I get why you were asking as well, I learned to always go back and buy multiples of any favourite toys after not being able to find a replacement for my dog’s favourite a few years back. I searched everywhere, but it was end of range, so no luck. Then out of the blue, on holiday in a different country, I randomly found them in the pet aisle of a supermarket. I bought all the ones they had left and the lady on the checkout looked at me like I was bonkers.

Hope you can find them at a reasonable price somewhere.
