Wide calf boots

Need new boots for winter dog walking. I have huge huge calves. Dubarry & Dublin wide do not fit. Calves are around 44cm Blush

I currently have jileons but would like something a bit nicer if possible. I’m limited mobility & do fall over at times so need something that I won’t slip in.

Hope one of you can help.

I wear muckboots - the neoprene sides means they stretch over my legs and they are pretty warm and comfy.

I forget which model but they are something like the 'Derwent'ones.

Thank you. Are they waterproof all the way up?

Would love country boots but think my calves are just too big.

Another vote for Muck boots here. They're quick and easy to slip on, and comfortable, I walk for miles in mine

I've just bought some from a website called The Wide Wellie Company. Haven't had them long but happy so far.

You should be OK with the Dublin extra wide at that size if you're set on country boots?

Am pretty sure they are. I walk through lots of long, wet grass and never had a problem.

I don't know. I just checked against my own calves and these are 10cm too narrow :(

I must have the widest calves in the world...

This doesn't help if you want knee high boots but I have the short Roscommon Dubarry boots - more comfortable and easy to get on and off. Seem to come up tiny I'm a small 6 and wear a 7.

I have really chunky legs and wear the Muck Boot Chore. I'm a farmer and spend a lot of time in wellies and need them to be good quality, also I'm not as flexible as I once was so contorting to pull on too tight wellies was becoming a right faff. I turn the top over, like Compo from Last of the Summer Wine, slide my foot in and then roll up the neoprene. Doing the reverse helps with taking them off and eliminates that vacuum suction that occurs with chunky legs.

No, I reckon that's me, don't suppose they'd fit me either LOL.

I do this Grin

If you're a size 5 up the extra wide ones are 44cm or higher?

ImAncient · 21/10/2020 13:47

Thank you everyone.

I’m going to doing a lot of ordering & see what works best.

I’ll probably end up with the muckboots. I’ve tried on the Dublins but they just didn’t go on easily but I’m going to order another pair & have a go.
