We are struggling in the potty training department with a breed that's notoriously hard to potty train. Any suggestions?

Our new puppy is four months.
What helped was putting a bell by the door for her to ring if she wants to go out.

Taking her out, not coming in till she goes and always saying "be quick" as encouragement.

Pretty much goes on that command now.

Nothing cuter than her ringing her bell to go out 💚

I took all the rugs up downstairs before she came and we don't have carpet downstairs. It's all hardwood floors and tiles. I've ordered some enzymatic cleaner. Might just dump some in the mop bucket and do the whole downstairs.

Oh my! She's beautiful!

Yes, pretty much the same as potty training DC, just try to keep her empty. Out in the garden very frequently, she doesn't come back in until she's been. Give a command, anything that you want and she'll soon associate that with going. If you 'keep her empty' she'll have less opportunity to need/want to go inside.

Easier said than done I know, but look at that face!!

My terrier was late to house training as we didn’t get him from Battersea until he was 16 ish weeks and he had very obviously never been in a house . He took a while to get it and I think the picking him up mid pee was the thing that finally made him realise what I wanted him to do ( plus the adding of a key word which here is quick) .
