Dog walking boots

I usually walk in ASICS trainers as I find them light and supportive, but I need something warmer and water proof for winter.
I don’t like wellies as they are uncomfortable on long walks.
I’m not keen on walking boots as I find them bulky and heavy.
I’ve heard a bit ‘muck boots’ but wondered if they’re slippy on the bottom ?
Any ideas for something light, supportive and warm ?Thanks.

I dont like much boots they feel too much like wellies to me. Walking boots are so personal it is hard to recommend.

I always wear walking boots but do put in the miles and could not imagine walking those distances in muck boots. Muck boots are ok for kicking around the field but not full on dog walk for me.

Walking boots do not need to be heavy, Merrell and Salomon walking boots are lightweight but unfortunately the only way really to check they are right for you is to try them on.

like muck boots! not much boots.

Decathlon do some great shoes boots. I'll put a link in later.

One of my teenagers has decathlon snow boots and they are really light and fleece lined.

I've got short fur lined wellies which are good too.

I have Hunter short wellies, Hunter now boots and Dr Marten boots. All comfy. The wellies fare better in mud.

I use either Woof Wear short yard boots or Dublin river boots dependent on how muddy it is . I always found muck boots too inflexible round the ankles which is also the issue with cheaper wellies .

I just bought a pair of Sorels for walking the dog. Not exactly stylish, but they're waterproof and really light.

I've had Hunter and Dubarry boots = they are more expensive but they're supportive for long walks and waterproof. Much better than standard wellies

Hyperfish101 · 10/10/2020 09:08

I like those Sorels.

That's the ones I'm thinking of. They look like trainers, but they're light, warm and waterproof.

I have just bought a pair of Dubarrys . Very expensive but these will hopefully last a few years .

Thanks everyone.
I’ve ordered the Decathlon snow boots - the mid calf ones with the ‘fur’ inside.
The laces might be a pain, but they look cute !
