Raw diet for arthritis.

Our young 6 year old lab has been diagnosed with arthritis. She takes Yumove, we’re keeping her weight down and she’s having some dog therapy massage. The vet has referred her to a surgeon but he wasn’t hopeful.

Anyway I was reading about raw food. Is this something that’s worth investigating for her? Any experience with arthritic dogs?

Thanks!

There is an argument that high carb diet can exacerbate joint pain but not sure how throuough the study has been on this.

Many dogs do well on raw diets. If a newbie to it I would look at the completes eg Natural instinct or Nutriment .

I would also change from Yumove to Riaflex Canine joint plus and green lipped mussel. This is the highest strength on the market and is more effective for most dogs than yumove.

As you have said weight is very important also physio can be very helpful especially as she is so young.

Also look at this is your go to for advice and help
