Dog started peeing on sofa

Help!
My 18 month old dog has started peeing on the sofa overnight- he sleeps upstairs but has twice this week come down in the night and peed on the sofa and done a poo on the floor. He’s been housetrained since a pup. The peeing on the sofa seems really odd. He’s peed by the back door when he’s been caught short before but the sofa?!
How can I make this stop?

Second time is he had probably recognised his scent, unless it’s been Professionally cleaned or cleaned with something to deodorise the scent chances are some of the scent will remain behind.

Make sure he has plenty of wee’s before going to bed. You can get sprays I’ve seen some with orange oil before and there is this one too.
