My girl got spayed today. Husband thinks I'm daft but I'm typing this out while camped out next to her in the living room. I've helped her wash, changed her body suit and we are snuggled. Absolute space cadet , she made a nest in the back garden to go to sleep and I had to wait for her to come in. Such a brave girl even if she's looking at me sideways!

Awww. Hope you both get some sleep and she feels better tomorrow.

Bless her heart! I remember when my last girl was spayed. She was so out of it and upset when she was brought home (they grazed her poor tummy up horribly when they shaved her, I think that must have been hurting more than anything!) I lay on the kitchen floor with her all night, and I think she really took comfort in that. I mean, you wouldn't leave a child alone the night after abdominal surgery would you! I really hope your girl is feeling more herself tomorrow. Bear

Morning. After 2 hours sleep I'm knackered.
She's still doped up. But more alert. She feels cold , especially her pads. Is that normal?
Gathering she will eat and drink when she's ready?
Didn't get much info off the vet only they will see her Thursday for a wound check

Grope Dog had an operation on her armpit a few months ago. Day one at home and she just waited for tomorrow to arrive. Another two days of keeping quiet and then she thought she was fixed. Then the hard work of keeping her quiet for the rest of the two weeks was underway...

She’s beautiful! You’ve absolutely done the right thing. She will heal up and remember that you were her cuddle buddy. 💐

labellesusage · 22/09/2020 15:57

Well she's pottering about on tip toes . Makes my heart ache for her.
She's eaten the chicken and rice I made her.
Let her groom herself
Dressing now off she patiently lifted her leg up for me!
Ordered another body suit
She went up the garden but I had to help her down as she couldn't get down the steps even though I was coaxing her down the grass 🙄

Yeah it's normal to feel cold after a GA. Poor girl, it's not going to be a fun week for her. Still, it's such a good thing done! At least she won't have the misery of coming into season year after year.

Dreamersandwishers · 23/09/2020 14:33

Poor wee thing. I was all prepared to sleep with my girl too, especially as she was fairly new to us. But she climbed into DDog1s bed with him, and for once he let her. He did all the nursing. He is a sweet thing.
Won’t let her near his bed now 😁

labellesusage · 23/09/2020 16:26

She is so sweet . Being such a good girl. Vets tomorrow for wound check. She's eating like a horse but no had a poo . Gathering it hurts too much to bear down.
Took her bodysuit of to give her a good brush. She practically groaned in relief

Had post op. Wound healed really well. Body suit off, lead walk till weekend. The 10 min walk to the vets knackered her. She's ignoring the wound and licking where she was shaved.
