Hi all, we have a saluki puppy named honey. Because of covid her first immunisations were delayed. Her second lot is next week and she's 15 weeks old almost. How long should we wait after her second lot? I'm sure the vet said 2 weeks after. Is this right? She's desprate to get out, I almost feel like she's really bored!! She's not really into toys ect and can't have many flavoured chew things.

Thanks x

It’s one to two weeks but would take your vets advice

CMOTDibbler · 21/09/2020 11:45

2 weeks. You really don't want to take any chances with parvo.
Is she a full saluki? I have a saluki x of my own and two saluki x foster puppies atm.

We need a picture OP! And yes, i would follow the vets advice, i know it seems to take forever but it's better than her getting ill :)

I was in a similar position and immunisations were very late because we had to start from the beginning.
We put our puppy in the car and took him to the park to sit and watch. Also I took him to the train station, outside the house to watch cars and people.
I did carry him around (and he is part greyhound so very long) but it was important to get him out of the house so he wasn't spooked when he was eventually allowed out. I looked ridiculous though and got many helpful comments!
My sympathies - the weather is so lovely so it must be very hard. I taught my puppy basic comands and tricks so he wasn't too bored.

I thought it was two weeks. Of course I'll follow it, I'm not a risk taker lol. Just feel sorry for her! She's pritty good with training doing basic commands. She just seems bored as she doesn't love toys like other puppies! She just seems to follow me around and look at me lol. She is full saluki, Will post pics x

She is beautiful! She suits her name too

Stephplus2 · 21/09/2020 13:28

@CMOTDibbler

What are the saluki puppies like your fostering? How old are they? She's very different to terriers we've had previously she's so chilled x

My two are just 8 weeks now, and apart from a couple of mad zoomie phases a day are great. They mostly like snoring in the sun - but they are tiddly and underweight so it may change! Salukis are generally a bit bonkers in their own special way. Does yours do the weird saluki sound - one of the babies has a lot to say and is doing the same as my boy does

Stephplus2 · 21/09/2020 17:35

Yes ours is underweight too but very greedy. I'm not to sure what the noise is. She has a couple of crazy moments but normally chilled out. She's getting abit to playful with the kids at times though. X
