Puppy feeding - confused!

Our Chihuahua puppy is 11 wks today. He's currently on Royal Canin puppy kibble as this is what his feeder had fed him. I mix a little bit of Ava in his meals too as we got a free bag of it from Pets At Home.

The vet says Royal Canin is perfectly good for a puppy but it doesn't score well on the All About Dog Food chart. Our pup also doesn't seem that keen. He eats it but needs some cajoling at almost every feed time. So, if I wanted to try something like the Butternut Box or Different Dog, is it just a case of switching over or do I need to slowly introduce the new food in by replacing the old food little by little?

I find this all very confusing!!

You would normally introduce gradually to prevent tummy issues

Slowly introduce it . Pets at home have guidance on what percentage of which food to give and over how long. My dog struggled with his change in food but he finally settled well with Ava junior.

I believe 2 weeks is the recommended time. That's how long we took to switch and we had no issues. My OH worked out a table so we gradually added more of food two by decreasing the amount of food one in each meal.

Gradually.
Put a bit of warm water on the biscuit to release some of the juice, makes it tastier for them.
