Pig's ears?

Are pig's ears safe for dogs? Google is giving conflicting advice. My neighbours give them to their dogs and have offered me some for my dog to try. I am not keen but dh thinks I'm being silly.

My DP bought some for our dog, either from Pets at Home or the pet food aisle in one of the big supermarkets.

She only got one as a huge treat, and absolutely loved them. I personally thought they were disgusting

Parents' dog thought they were the world's second finest food, after leftover kebab she found in the gutter

We too thought they were disgusting but were happy to encourage the pig's ear habit and deter the kebab hunting.

They're absolutely fine - they're quite fatty though so I wouldn't give them often. Mine loves them!

We get a couple every month as a treat. Works great if he needs distracting.

My dog loves them but they make his farts absolutely rancid. 😂

My dogs like pig ears & the puffed snouts but I tend to buy cow ears as lower fat. Chicken feet are weird to watch them eat

One love dried tripe, but oh my word, it stinks...

Mine loves pigs ears. And bull's pizzles, which are infinitely worse :D

My two spaniels love them. They love ostrich tendons too.

Op our dog likes pigs and cow ears. They are vile. He throws them up in the air and flicks them round pouncing on them. One landed in my hair last week. Just vile.

My husband also bought a bag of hooves from pets at home. Don't even know what type of hooves but the ears are marginally better than the hooves. They are banned from the house. Double vile.

I get them from our local Pet shop who are very pro natural diets etc, they're much better (bigger and hairier!) than the ones I've got at the supermarket and last a good amount of time. He loves them!

They love rabbit ears though and they go down quicker. Bonus as an added wormer

Ours loves chicken feet and lambs tails and anything fishy.

but it’s the tripe twists that gets the bottom wriggling, scampering around the house, the squeaking in a low pitched way with jaws firmly shut and then It’s finally buried in the garden to be dug up and inspected every couple of days till it’s ripe.

And an ostrich bone.

My dog absolutely loves pigs ears, would do anything for one. We buy a box from Costco and then he will get them as an occasional treat.

The absolute worst thing I've had is turkey necks. They were given to me and I couldn't refuse. Smelt absolutely awful, left nasty greasy marks everywhere and the dog got weirdly possessive over them.

They went in the bin.

Oh, and they made the dog stink of slightly rancid turkey too.

Juiceypup isn't bothered by pigs ears. Has a half hearted chew then gives up.

We bought him a puzzle once. The smell made me properly heave. Couldn't put it in the bin as it was so rancid!

They smell so bad and nope I’d not use them, what purpose do they have? I’d go for something like deer horn or nyla bone or a kong
