Hello all. Having done lots of research and breeder visiting etc we are getting a Toller. As I love the doghouse community I thought I would ask if anybody has/had one or knew one and what your thoughts were please.
Much appreciated and look forward to joining puppy survival late this year or early next year

Not me personally but a dog walking friend had one and she was lovely.
Great size too, friendly and very clever.
High energy so needed a good walk/run a day.

They're beautiful dogs - I've met several and they're all absolutely lovely if a little aloof with strangers (not remotely aggressive but just not really bothered iyswim).

I can't think of anything bad to say about them really - good luck!

I have two! They are a great breed and lots of fun to live with. Make sure that your breeder is fully health testing both parents for DE, DM, PRA, CEA, hips and elbows scored. Sadly there is a growing number of breeders not bothering and still charging a lot for the puppies!

Check the temperament of the parents as I do know a few reactive tollers. Socialise them lots when they are young, I would carry mine when they couldn't walk because of vaccines and with my youngest we are still doing lots of visits to new places with him.

They love to have a job or they can get bored and be hard to live with, I train my oldest in agility and she loves it!
Any questions you have just let me know

I've got one. He is very high energy and would die fetching a ball (or apple/stone) if I didn't make him stop. Equally he can be very much a couch potato too. He loves nothing more than to sleep on a bed with his head on a pillow.
They are highly intelligent and love to do things. Took me 5 mins to teach him to ring a bell if he wanted to go outside.
When he was young he was great with other dogs, but now at 9 likes his own personal space and gets grumpy when another dog invades it.
I am still in touch with his breeder and know several others as we used to show him.

As SlothMama says above make sure the breeder does all the health tests.
Let me know if I can help.
