Urine burning grass - does professional lawn care work?

Tried everything over the years, and I mean everything! Lawn ruined in last house, replaced with artificial (dislike but also solved muddy paws!)

Moved house and artificial isn't an option (doesn't suit old house and it's a large area £££)

Does anyone have professional lawn care? Does it work? What do they do that I can't?!

Nope, nothing works. We gravelled an area in this house, bark chipped an are prev house 2m x2m and trained the dog to go just there. Also has the benefit that you can hose it down.

My DH is a landscape gardener, nothing works. The only way to get rid is to cut it the area that’s burnt and replace that section with new turf, but obviously if you’re dog keeps using the garden it will just happen again. Only way to resolve it is to keep the dog off the grass.

Have a watering can handy and water down after your dog has peeed.

We have watering cans everywhere and try and water the pee patches as soon as he has been.

We do miss some because you can't watch him all the time and then we dig out the dead grass and reseed. But you have to keep the newly seeded area well watered until it starts to grow so I feel that I am forever out there with a watering can

Has anyone tried those stones you put in their drinking water? I was thinking of giving those a try but no idea how well they work.

A tablespoon of ketchup in every meal works for my mutt. She burned the grass terribly, but doesn’t any more.

Haven't tried them but can you buy Dog rocks? They're supposed to neutralise the urine

I’m in Aus. Dog rocks here saved our lawn. No problems at all now.

Dog Rocks, yes they're the ones I saw. So that's a vote for and a vote against then :)

Maybe they're one of those things that work for some dogs but not others.

I'm another watering can user and pour at least half a can on each pee. It really does work, but of course it means following your dog every time it goes in the garden, and some obviously get missed.
I reseed in the spring any patches that look bad, and then fence around them with netting until established. I use a mix of John Innes no. 2 and fast growing grass seed and top dress. It soon grows back.
I don't bother watering in the winter. The lawn is less likely to be damaged if it's wet and the grass doesn't seem to suffer so much.
I used to have a dog and a bitch. The bitch killed the grass and the dog killed the plants by peeing up them. You couldn't win!
