I can't believe I'm typing this.
We have a nearly 8 year old DLab, rescued her 8 months ago, she is a fab girl.
She's had a couple of UTI's so has has anti bio's and bloods done etc. She had a scan a fortnight ago and had some fluid in her uterus, vets are worried about endometriosis which could in turn become pyometra.
Yesterday she was booked in to be spayed, absolutely no question we would do what was needed for her (when we got her she was so skinny, we and the vet decided to wait and see if she had a season and also to build her up more, she was chipped so our vet spoke to her old vet and no neutering had been done, infant she had hardly been to the vet).
The vet phoned after the op and said she had already been spayed before we got her so just closed her up again.
Now, I'm so upset, she's 8 and we've put her through this for no reason.
I didn't question the vet when I picked her up, but having had time to think, I'm going to phone and ask to speak to the owner and ask what on earth went wrong.
Is it hard to see a uterus on a dog scan, does this happen often?
Anything else I should be asking?
