Pup has developed a weird raspberry in the middle of his toes. Anyone seen it before?

Vets here still only accepting emergencies.

He was limping on his other leg a few days ago as he tripped over his lead.

Could he have been stung by a bee or wasp?

vanillandhoney · 07/07/2020 15:54

It could be a hot spot.

villainousbroodmare · 07/07/2020 15:58

Grass seed maybe. Look carefully and see if there's a puncture wound in it. Don't let him lick it. A sock may help, held up with elastoplast.

SepticTankYank · 07/07/2020 16:01

He growls when I go near it. Noticed it yesterday.

Today he has let me near it but was cautious so I assumed healing. However, it's bigger. He is a long haired dog so hotspot sounds likely. I'm going to try cleaning it.

I can't see a puncture anyway but he isn't letting me too close. DP says leave it a few days. I don't want to.

Bowl of salty water and dunk the foot in regularly.
Or Pets at Home do some amazing antiseptic lotion for a fiver!!

SepticTankYank · 07/07/2020 16:08

@Sunnydayshereatlast thanks. I will try both.

He had something similar but different in his back paw. I think he is an unhealthy dog. He used to get the fur gone around his eyes. Vet said it was fine and eventually it went. He is always rubbing his nose on door frames and has been licking his legs a lot recently.

He isn't the nicest of dogs and is more cat like. If he doesn't want you near him he growls/grumbles. We love each other very much tho.

Look up how to make a tape muzzle. A pair of tights is ideal to use. Comfortable for a few minutes and he won't be able to bite you. But I think he should see a vet; above sock idea is just to buy a bit of time and prevent him making it worse by licking.

SepticTankYank · 07/07/2020 16:26

Google says not to put anything on it tho.

So I just looked at it and it appears to have popped. I poked at it and a lot of pink watery goo came out. Then we both just looked at it. He started licking it. I've told him to stop and he has. Now it's between his toes and not above.

DP reckons pyoderma

He has this mark on his ewok looking testicles. I was told it's where it rubs on the ground when he sits/lays down. I wonder if it's a hotspot.

Allergies?
My older dog would worry at her feet and get all kinds of lumps and bumps. Allergic to chicken and beef.

Sunnydayshereatlast · 07/07/2020 18:28

We had a collie cross that was allergic to grass seeds... Poor ddog permanently smelled of Germolene!! Dm's go- to cure for all!

SepticTankYank · 07/07/2020 18:42

I definitely think he has sensitive skin so allergy or bite isn't unexpected. He also is a fluffy bugger so think it doesn't help.

@Sunnydayshereatlast thanks so much. I've been to pets at home and got "the stuff"
