Vomitting Bundles of Grass!

Our Lab has overnight vomitted what looks like a bundle of grass! Also had 2 x runny poos.
He seems fine and is running around and pleading for breakfast. Hes 18 months and this also happened 2 weeks ago but again he was fine.
Should I be concerned?

I was going to post a photo of the 'grass' but not sure if that's acceptable?

Thanks,I know I can look on Google but I prefer to ask 'real' people about their experiences. If I thought he was ill I would take him to the vet (if it was open!!) But he does seem find.
Just seems weird that it's the 2nd time in a few weeks.
I've not owned a dog before so love reading all the doggy posts on here and reading about real experiences.

Every dog I've had eats grass semi-regularly. About a quarter of the time it then causes them to vomit that frothy bundle of grass you talk about.

Whilst the cause is disputed, I do tend to think they do it more often when they feel nauseous but mine have never done it when they are 'proper' ill.

In all honesty, 2 episodes a fortnight apart, and two runny poos, wouldn't have me concerned. I would watch the dog more closely to be sure I spotted any other symptoms (if there were any) but otherwise, wouldn't stress, if it were me/mine.

Dogs do eat grass a certain type. This is apparently for digestion reasons google it. Some dogs do it more than others.

No problem OP and you'll have to forgive me here for sticking my nose in. In that photo he is very handsome but is also a bit heavier than I would aim for an 18 month old dog to be.

It could just be the photo/angle but if he is eating grass to help with digestion/nausea then it may be he is simply eating a bit too much food.

If I am wrong and the photo/body position is making him seem chunkier than he is then totally ignore me.

Just have to keep an eye.

Some do it for digestive reasons.

Some do it because they feel sick and that helps. If they feel sick they may have eaten something which is irritating tummy.

Thinking to my friends lab who ate everything and anything and has just had surgery to remove various items.

I would also watch how your dog eats grass.

When my dog rushes outside and starts cropping the grass in a slightly desperate way, that generally means she's eating it because she feels nauseous and she will either vomit or, if it keeps happening, it usually means she's unwell with some sort of stomach issue - she has a tendency to eat things when she's out that can upset her stomach - this can result in lots of grass in her poo as well.

If, however, she sniffs the longer grass in a leisurely manner and selects which pieces to eat, that means she's eating it for the enjoyment and she'll usually only eat the tip of the blade.

What are you feeding him?
Could he be eating stuff he shouldn’t?
Vomiting a bile like substance can be hunger Pukes.
One of mine eats grass if she feels a bit queasy.

@AmberShadesofGold no offence taken, he is a bit chunky! He weighed 40kg 3 weeks ago when he had his vaccinations,the vet did say hes not fat but has the potential to put on weight easily. His dad is huge! Big chunky face.
Being a lab he eats for a hobby and has eaten some nasty things in his life.
He has 2 meals a day of kibble but rarely eats the breakfast.
I'm guilty of giving treats, beef tails, goats ears, salmon strips. BUT I have really cut back on those in the last week, he has 2 a week instead of 1 a day

I've just thought, I started him on Yuderm mixed with his food 2 weeks ago as he has seasonal itching on his belly and I read this helps. Its omega, salmon oils etc.
I wonder if that has upset him?

If he’s only eating once a day then he may be getting hunger pukes.
Did the vomiting start after jabs?
Have a look at all about dog food to check how good the kibble is. Not all good suits all dogs and some is better than other.
Did you introduce the yuderm slowly? Or go straight to the full dose?

@Wolfiefan thank you, he needs 6 squirts of yuderm for his weight, I started with 3 and built up. Have looked at his food on that website, it gives 83% which is pretty good I think. Maybe I should introduce a bit of wet meat into the kibble to add interest?
The vomitting did start after the jabs but only 2 random vomits so not sure that's connected?

I’m not a vet but I wouldn’t think so. If my dog has an iffy stomach then I add some pro kolin enterogenic for a bit. It’s what the vet gave me when the puppy managed to ingest rotting fruit and seriously upset her stomach (don’t ask!) but you can buy it on amazon.

Sounds Disgusting why do dogs do it??!

Dogs are grim! Yes, I learned that soon after I got mine as a small puppy and she discovered the delights of my cats' litter trays (not envy)

Ah yes. One of the reasons our cat litter trays and food are behind the stairgate!!

Yes our cats now live upstairs! Separated by a stair gate.
Forgot to say but the first time he vomitted he then swiftly ate the lot🤢
