Puppy vaccinations confused

Puppy had first set at the owner's vet. We planned to switch to our usual vet. But they use different brands. Can he go back to original vet for vaccination booster in a couple of weeks then go to our vet? When will he need another booster? If our vet doesn't use the same would they do ongoing/ future ones? I'm not explaining well but are the first two a "set" then we can move vet or is there another ?

Only the primary course needs to be the same brand after that annual vaccinations can be any brand.

I had this. All local vets aid we would have to start again but luckily breeder was only 30 minutes up the road so we went to their vet and got the same brand. It seems to be a common way for vets to overcharge and sell their puppy packages, if you ask me.

@PollyPolson thanks for getting what I meant. I didn't want to ring what will be our new vet and annoy them by flirting between practices but I want them doing ASAP And it's not like humans where you have to go to one practice right? We use our local one for the cat so makes sense ongoing for go there and I like them and they're fab with the animals

@mimbleandlittlemy it is that data sheets from the drug companies state that their vaccine has not been test combined with another. We don't want leave a puppy unprotected honestly life would be much simpler and easier if we could just use any old vaccine.

Lonecat, all three local vets said we had to start again, with their puppy packages, including the cost of microchipping even though the puppy was microchipped. One also inferred the brand the original vet had used was not going to leave the puppy protected which was why we needed to start again. It was a well known brand. If one of the three practices had said what you said, I might not be quite so cynical, but given none of them would take off the cost of microchipping an already microchipped dog, I did feel it was an exercise in money making.

I guess we will see what original vet tells us but if we have to back there after 6 months so be it

@mimbleandlittlemy my practice stocks all five major vaccine types so we can vaccinate nearly every puppy with the same as their first vaccine. I fail to understand why other practices don't do this - it costs us fractionally more to vaccinate these puppy's weighed up against potentially a lifetimes vet care seems mad.
However, my entire practice is built on long term relationship and life long care rather than short term financial gain.

Unfortunately, in my part of London, we seem to be dominated by the big vet chains, which is a shame. Would love a vet like you, Lonecat.
