Is Sky a good name for a male dog?

We are hopefully getting a puppy in a few weeks, a little boy light brown in colour. For personal reasons I quite like the name Sky but not sure if everyone will assume he is female. Not that it really matters I suppose. Should I go with it or choose a different name?

I think it's a beautiful name for a dog. It doesn't matter whether it's a male or female dog.

That's the beauty of naming an animal, the animal won't care what it's called as long as the name is always used in a kind voice and it won't look at you in years to come and say 'I hate my name' if you choose something a little 'odd'.

It's a great name - easy to call, and unisex.

Over time you'll probably develop all kinds of silly nicknames for your dog in private Grin

Yes, that's true about the silly names.

I use loads of little names for my dog - as I think most dog owners do - that aren't actually her real name.

She never complains.

My mums dog was called Aneurin, but was always known as Nye or Noo Noo for short.......yes he was a Welsh Terrier. Other names for the dog were Woofer, Stupid and Noodle Pops.

I don't think Walker is a good idea - every time we said his name he would think we were going for a walk

Very good point.

Of course, he might think that would be a very good idea ;)
