Frug insurance

I'm looking for a bit of advice regarding insurance. We brought our new pug x French bulldog puppy home last week and her breeder insurance expires in a few weeks. I've looked at a few quotes. petplan is insanely expensive and with animal friends I have to select the breed she is most like. As she is a straight 50/50 cross I'm not sure what to pick. There is a price difference of around £30 per month depending on whether I choose pug or frenchie.
I'm just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for who to go with/avoid. Or which breed I should select when i need to specify. I don't want to screw myself over later down the line.
Thanks

Have you looked at Bought by Many?

Insurance is likely to be expensive as you have a combination of breeds that have a high level of claims.
Frenchie -BOAS surgery, skin conditions
Pug - luxating globe, BOAS surgery
Make sure you take the highest level of lifetime cover you can afford.

With that cross I’d go for the highest level Petplan lifetime insurance that you can get as it’s very likely you will need it .

Petplan is a bit pricier but they're very good at paying out promptly and the premiums don't rise because you make a claim.

Petplan also covers dental, which can be very expensive - obviously not just cleaning as that's considered cosmetic.

If you're going with Lifetime insurance rather than yearly it will work out more expensive, but well worth the extra.

If you go with Animal Friends I'd chose the least expensive breed option. How will they know what your puppy looks like?

Bit of an odd question really. She's a puppy, in a few months she might look quite different.

Thanks very much. I think I was just a little startled when I spoke to petplan this morning I wasn't expecting that sort of price. I have had a look at bought by many and they offer a similar insurance package as well as tesco. I will sit down tonight and really look at the details of the quotes and figure out what is best.

Bought by Many paid out with no issues for my cat and the renewal price was reasonable too. Petplan was out of my price range as I needed to cover 2 cats
