How many different walks do you do? What’s your favourite?

We have the choice of:

-an Iron Age hill fort
-2 large corn fields
-a large field close at the end of our estate
-on lead along around the local streets
-a large woodland
-small coppice
-on lead along the canal

My absolute favourite though is a wood about 10 minutes away. There’s no livestock anywhere, a little stream and it’s always very quiet. Pup is 9 months old and his recall isn’t great but there’s no real trouble he can get up to here if he’s reluctant to come back.

Lovely! We have two we don't need to drive to:

• Quiet lanes through orange and olive trees (we're in Spain)
• Scrubby patch of land with lots of different criss crossy walks and lots of wild flowers

There is also a more formal park but dog can't go off lead

We drive to (although have not been able to because of lockdown)

• long shady riverside walk - beautiful but lots of bikes
• mountain walks through pine trees - lovely and lots of amazing views
• sand duney beach walks (can go off lead in winter, not summer)

We are very lucky and locally have
-beautiful large beach with large woodlands attached
-smaller beach
-coastal paths of differing lengths
-6 mile hilly wood land walk
5 mile loop to practice loose lead walking
-tiny woodland/park walk
-medium sized woodland with lots of room for ball chasing

Pre lockdown we also spent most weekends going further a field and doing long country/hill walks.

We are very lucky to have so much choice where we live.

I’d love to live near the coast. Our nearest dog friendly beach is an hour away so not too far for a weekend’s drive (in normal circumstances) but to have it on your doorstep would be amazing!

Could probably do a different walk every day, if we wanted but have our favourites.

4 from the house each with various permutations and the beach is ten minutes away and the South Downs ten minutes the other way. A quick walk of 1 to 2 miles I'll do from home 2 to 4 miles from a beach start and further I'll drive to the Downs. Ddog generally chooses.

My dog is instantly recognisable fairydustandpixies. You’re not Lola, the red lab’s owner are you?

DDog is nearly 18 now and can't really manage long walks, so I'm usually exploring alone.

We have a large area of woods and farmland close by with umpteen possible walks, from a quick half hour (which Ddog can still manage) to several hours.

We also live near the coast so do the occasional beach walk.

There's a large country park close by too, with several possible walks.

Finally the next town has a promenade on the sea front plus a number of ornamental parks.

Looking at that list we're incredibly lucky.

Have to walk a few mins or drive to go off-lead but have access to lots of woodland, footpaths (riverside, fields), a nature reserve and public open space - playing fields, rough grass, scrub etc. Also access to lots of ponds and other water.

We're very lucky - we live on the edge of the Lake District so we have hundreds of walks within a 20-30 minute drive from us. From the doorstep we have maybe 5-6, and another 10 or so within a 10 minute drive.

The beach closest to me, there's the beach and then behind it miles of rough ground to walk through.
