He died on Thursday and I'm just so sad

My JRT was 15 and passed away after being poorly for 2 days. I've lost two of my three dogs in less than a year.

My heart physically hurts. I'm never getting another dog. I'm going to get a lizard. I don't think you can get attached to lizards.

Sorry for your losses op. We have lost a ddog and our dcat in less than 2 months recently..
And ime lizards (iguana) bite and it bloody hurts!!

My friend has a lizard and seriously, he is her baby!!!

He was simply fab. He had to have both his eyes removed before he was 5 due to multiple conditions - but he coped and lived a wonderful life. Despite being blind he ruled the roost.

He would eat literally everything and anything. Whenever we had a takeaway we would feed him titbits and he would swallow them without even sniffing them first - even spring onions and chillis

So sorry. That's incredibly hard, and after having him for so long.

That so sad. We lost our last dog at 17 and it took us 5 years before we got another.

Ah I’m so sorry- he sounded like quite the character- it does hurt- we lost our jrt some years back and said never again- it was just so painful- we waited quite a few years before circs were right to get digs again.
He had a long and very happy life by the sounds of it -what a lucky dog! 💐💐

I still mourn ( really mourn ) my girl after 5 years. I know this pain. As many of us do.

He had a wonderful life because you were his wonderful companion.

As such you are only ever going to know pain when you choose to be a companion again. Whether it be a pup, lizard or fruit fly. It is how you are made - you love and you get love back.

so sorry sending lots of sympathy mine went on Tuesday. After 14 years. I know exactly how you are feeling.

Really sorry to hear this.

My parents always said they'd never get another... they always did. I decided to cut out the faffing by not going through that phase. I knew I would, even though each death breaks your heart. He had 15 years of a wonderful life. There's someone out there waiting for that kind of life.

And also, my friend loves his lizards. Not sure about a fruit fly though...

So sorry for your loss, it hurts like hell when you have to let them go. It sounds like he had a lovely life with a family who adored him.

It’s a grief to be mourned like any lost love because at the end of the day love is love, it doesn’t matter what it for.

Aww op so sad for you, had a cry as I lost my beautiful 12 year old golden retriever 3 weeks ago and it’s awful really gut wrenching and I still get upset most days as he’s left such a massive hole in our family
