Neuturing allowed now?

I've rang the vets a few times but it's been engaged each time as they're on reduced hours.

I have a Pomchi who is 6 months old mid April and we had discussed with the vets him being neutured. Obviously now with Covid, I'm not sure if it would be classed as necessary treatment? We do have a female dog but she's 8 and has been spayed so that's not a worry.

Does anyone know please whether he will need to wait until this passes?

I imagine vets are dealing with emergencies only

Emergencies and essential work only for vets at the moment - neutering will need to wait.

vanillandhoney · 05/04/2020 21:18

Nope, not allowed. Emergencies only.

I thought as much, just wanted clarification. Thank you.

Hopefully DFS are offering good prices because if he carries on humping my sofa I'll need itBlush

Neuturing allowed now?
AvocadosBeforeMortgages · 06/04/2020 01:08

@permana There's an image of a man who could do with being neutered...

vanillandhoney · 06/04/2020 06:42

Even if you do get him neutered just be aware that it doesn't always stop humping behaviours!

TW2013 · 06/04/2020 06:50

Is that in relation to dogs or Boris Johnson?

PomchiMummy · 06/04/2020 09:41

TW2013 😂😂😂😂😂

I'm more concerned now about maybe having to keep him on his lead when we're walking. He's usually good with recall but if another dog is in heat, I'd be worried he'd be fuelled by his erm.. Manparts and ignore me Sad

He should only be exercised on lead at present.

Hovverry · 07/04/2020 12:41

Many people, including many vets, would not castrate before a dog is fully grown.
Humping is normal teenage behaviour, he’ll probably grow out of it.
