Hello, we've had our name down on the greyhound trust for a cat friendly greyhound for some time. We've just been contacted that a cat friendly (or not interested) greyhound is available. He's 4 I think. Given the gov announcement last night can we even go to meet him? the rspcas website said they are still rehoming. I've never had a dog also and this is a wierd time - does anyone have any advice? Thanks

I'd say its not a good time for you to take on your first dog. I'd be a bit surprised if they'd let you.

Is it on the list of activities you are allowed to do?

No.

So don't go.

And with the restrictions on walking dogs at the moment, you don't want to be taking on a new dog in unfamiliar surroundings. It's not fair on you or the dog. Wait until this is over.

Cat and a grey hound? Are they not the dogs that chase a small furry animal around a track?
I feel its not a wise choice for a cat owner but I know very little about grey hounds.
I would wait for the virus situation to improve.

Can you reserve the dog and make donations - the amount you would be spending on food/walkers etc to the rspca?
Then collect him in 3 weeks (hopefully) when lock down is over.
