Does anyone know why?

My dog has never humped or attempted to and I wondered why? He was neutered at 1 year but prior to that showed no inclination either. Obviously, I am very pleased about this but it got me wondering. Incidentally, other dogs have tried to hump him many times. Is this normal?

Mine has never humped anything. He's 4 this year and was neutered at 10.5 months of age.

But he has never cocked his leg either. The downside of him peeing like a girl is that it kills the lawn as it's concentrated in one small area

Mine is a female and she occasionally humps, or rather used to hump her favourite toy, a sheep as it happens.

She didn't do it often and it was just a quick burst but would do it when playing sometimes.

She's nearly nine now and has pretty much stopped doing it completely.

All dogs are different.

I've heard t's not unusual for entire males to try to hump neutered males; it's something to do with the way neutered males smell apparently, or so I've heard.

My male dog has never humped another dog, but can put on quite a show with his bed... He was frequently picked on by other males, even when entire, but these days he tells them off.
My female will sniff him all over then start hip wiggling. She wouldn’t dare actually touch him or mount him while doing this but apparently he gives her the feels 🤣

My male lab never humped anything but his sister humped him 🙄

It’s a dominating thing. My current dog has never humped anything but my previous dog humped every dog he saw. My current dog gets humped by practically every new dog he meets. He’s a pretty cowardly, submissive dog.

My patterdale x was neutered at about 12 months , at which point he was humping anything and everything . Since then he only humps indoors if he gets very excited ( he’s nearly 10) and that’s generally my leg if anyone tries to hug me . He gets very aggressive if a dog tries to hump him when we are out .

Mine who is not neutered, almost 2 has never humped anything either.

My 9 month old puppy has been humping his favourite soft toys since we bought him home at 8 weeks 😐 A vet nurse told me it's a stress relief thing for them....

My 8 year old dog has never humped anything before or after neutering, he has been near a bitch on heat too on a walk (ridiculous owner walking around same time as most and to same place as everyone else) all the other Male dogs darted across the field and mine just looked at them and ran back to us.

My MILs female dog does it her teddy I have never been able to fathom why?

Is she horny? She has been spayed so she can't be in season but does she still get surges of hormones? She isn't aggressive or like it with people, just the teddy gets it, but she is a female. It baffles me.

My female dog cocks her leg. Sometimes she cocks both legs and does a sort of 'cart-whee', it's very funny and I don't think she has any awareness about it. She's just doing what comes naturally to her. They're all different; just like us.

Oh god I've just remembered mine humping my friends baby when he was crawling. It's the only time she's done it. How inappropriate!
