Licking his willie constantly...

Hiya. Just that really. My boy is obsessed! So much so it is now red and presumably sore so he just does it more! He used to do this on his legs and I got some cream which stopped the itch and seemed to work, but not really keen to put it on his willie! Thoughts please dog parents?

I'm not a dog owner but I'd say a trip to the vets would be a good idea.

It might be an infection. Get him to the vet.

Expect to exit vet with him wearing the Cone Of Shame and a hefty bill for you most likely...

Vets. Could be infected, could be tight foreskin, could be a foreign body stuck there. Could be any of a number of things - go to the vet please.

Update: visit to vet - all good, no infection.

If he wants to lick can you redirect the behaviour by providing lick mats, kongs etc?
