So, we adopted a nearly 1 year old lab nearly 3 weeks ago, she started showing signs of being in season about 2 week ago, then tonight I noticed she's bleeding/spotting. Where is she in the season? I'm concerned as we're due to go away (with her) for a couple of days at the end of next week and we kind of thought she was coming towards the end.

By 'signs' what do you mean? Bitches generally bleed through their seasons.

Thanks, she has been licking, cleaning herself a lot for the last couple of weeks

Our pup got hers at 7 months old, she bled for just under 4 weeks.

Mine started licking herself and weeing more often before she started bleeding.. and the bleeding lasted 3 weeks, tho only mild spotting. I would say that you have to assume she will be very fertile when you go away and keep her on a lead at all times!

Ask your vet whilst you book her spaying?

Thanks all, we've spoken to vet but they say spaying is 3 months after season ends, will just keep her on lead and see how it goes
