Did anyone’s puppy become more affectionate as they got older?

Our boy is 5 months now. First thing in the morning, when he’s just woken up, he lies on his back with his little paws flopped over in front of him and looks deep into my eyes as I tickle him tummy. I absolutely love it but that’s it for the rest of day! He’s a whirlwind of chewing, tripping me up, digging, farting and mud traipsing the rest of the time. I’m just wondering if I’ll see more of the lovely tummy tickle boy as he gets older?

Yes..with every passing month! Mine's 8 months so just a little ahead of yours and she is becoming more affectionate by the day. Especially since we gave up keeping her downstairs at night... now I'm woken by a fuzzy muzzle pushing into my face and a good wash!

Mine's not the soppiest of breeds but very family orientated. Over the last month or so she has really become much more cuddly and also more adult..less whirlwind and more contented.

I can only see it being more so as she grows up :)

Yep, mines 3 now. When young he just did not have time for cuddles. Now he'll follow me from room to room and nab the last spot on the sofa. He's 40kg and thinks he's a lap dog.

Oh yes. Mines 9 and he’s a real cuddle monster. Clambers on me like he’s still a puppy - he’s a lab so you know about it when he wants a cuddle.

Yeah - mine is 2 now and has recently started sitting on the back of the sofa behind me resting his nose on my shoulder. He is becoming a cute little snuggler but he was very very independant for the first 18 months. I always complained that I bought a lap dog puppy (he is a cute fluffy white Bichon Frise) and got a grumpy old sheep dog in disguise.

Unfortunately (for me) my dog isn't a cuddler but will seek out and show affection in her own way. We have an extremely strong bond but she definitely plays hard to get!
