Dog barks ALL the time when out on walk. HELP

Any advice on how to reduce or stop my very happy dog barking when out on a walk.

Getting to the point now where it is so frustrating that I am reducing the amount and length of walks.

When exactly does your dog start the barking? Is it when you start putting on your outdoor shoes/coat and putting on the dog’s lead/harness? Or when you open the door? Or when the dog is near the walk?

Do you use the same walk route every day?

Starts barking as soon as in garden leaving for walk. Lead on. Few different walks. Some we go to in car - doesn't bark in car, others around where we live. I have two dogs. Other dog has now started to join in at start of walk but tapers off after being told to stop. Saw a behaviourist who advised walking them separately. Not ideal as don't have 4 free hours everyday.

Would barky dog accept a rubber ‘stick’ or ball to carry when Leaving for walk? as soon as my dog anticipates the walk, she does start barking and giving her something to carry ONLY when we go walking has worked.

What age, breed and sex is barky dog?

That might reduce it. Good idea. She's now 7yr and been getting worse every year.

When I started walking ddog as a dpuppy and she went loopy exiting the house /dangling on the lead I just went back inside. Took off the lead and sat down.
She soon cottoned on.
4 ddogs but she is the best on getting the lead on and out the house.

I have a collie cross and she has a tendency to do this. What works best for us is to stop walking when she barks. We call her to heel and don't move. Once she's calm we slowly move forward. If she barks again, we stop again. Rinse and repeat until she sets off quietly. If she does we congratulate her quietly. If she continues to bark we just keep stopping.
It works well with our dog. I think collies can pick up bad habits really easily but they can lose them easily too because they are attuned to you and want to please. Good luck.
