Poorly Paw

My cocker started limping today, when I had a look at his paws I've found a really sore patch inbetween his toes.
We took him to the groomers 10 days ago and they mentioned he wasn't keen on having his toes done, however until today he's been chasing his ball/playing/walking as normal. The limping came on around two hours after his morning walk today.
Have cleaned it with hibi scrub (which caused him to squeal and now won't let me near it) and will take him to the vet first thing, just wondered if anyone could offer any advice as to how to make him more comfortable.
Thank you

DDog had had an ongoing sore paw-she fusses it so much. Our vet suggested sudocreme (not if open wound) and then we put a little sock on paw so she stops licking/chewing and it has finally healed up nicely

Hadn't thought of sudocreme, will give it a go, thank you so much!
