How does your dog eat?

This might be really random. Basically I have two dogs. One who is 4 and one who is 8.
The older dog has always done this thing where he takes a mouthful of food and tries to wander around. We used to feed them outside but have had trouble with birds so now we feed them in the laundry.

Younger dog has learnt this off older dog I presume. So feed times are them taking mouthfuls and wandering out to look at us and the house basically. Like they have FOMO. I'm constantly cleaning up bits they drop. I can't shut the door when they eat as youngest hates the door moving, freaks him out, and will then sit in the laundry refusing to eat. He'll just wait til you open it and then bolt.

Is this just my dogs?!!

Both my two take a mouthful of food out of the bowl scatter it on the floor gaze at it lovingly and slowly eat it piece by piece. Except fresh chicken they eat that so fast I worry they will choke.

One will eat anything he can get his thieving little paws on, the other will never take food off anyone apart from family and then only in a secure environment, never at the vets. If a friend offers him a treat he will politely take it and then secrete it somewhere for later. His little brother will wolf treats at the vets and completely ignore what she is doing to him. He’ll eat anything even cucumber and lettuce. Greedy piglet!😀
They will both eat their own food without any issue, number one dog used to be fussy until number two arrived but will still look horrified if I mix their bowls up, they both have the same raw complete food but in different bowls.

Mine is a snacker, he nibbles throughout the day and night. Even "people food" gets left in his bowl until he's in the mood to eat. Strange creature.

@lazylinguist We had to train with a ball because he couldn't be bothered to eat the treats! Our trainer said she had never seen a dog so disinterested in chicken pieces

My dog will eat whatever, wherever, whenever, and he will eat it like he has never been fed in his entire life BUT only after you have told him to eat in in an exact sequence of words and tone of voice. He will just sit and stare otherwise. If we leave him with others we have to teach them the phrase and tone of voice to say it in.

I've also had a dog who would happily nibble throughout the day and leave bits in his bowl that he didn't really want. But if you have him a really good treat (egg, bit of sausage or cheese etc) he would veeeerrry gently hold it in his mouth and carry it around with him for the day, like his 'companion'. Nap in the hallway? Bring the egg. Lie down in the living room? Tuck the egg in next to him. Eat in secret when noone is watching.

My dog annoys me by not hoovering up dropped food from the floor.
She will however clean up the half-eaten contents of my dinner plate if I leave the room to answer door etc one day I will remember she does this and not fall for it!
