Adopting ex race dog

Has anyone done this? I'd like to hear your experiences.

Be prepared to keep on a lead.....! Until you have one legging it away from you at 40mph towards a distant squirrel you won't fully understand why

My husband found this out when our bolted out the door as he was putting his lead on. My husband chased him for about an hour and a half. For full disclosure my husband is a minister... he was suited and booted whilst chasing the dog🙈

He phoned me while I was at work mid chase to let me know what was going on.

I phoned our local police station to say if anyone finds him out sees him he’s ours. Lady asked what type of dog had we lost? I say greyhound, she says oooooh. Thankfully some builders nearby managed to head him off into a garden and shut the gate. We’re so lucky, he ran across multiple main roads

I have a whippet cross and she is awesome, but Id love a greyhound, DH won't let me have more than one dog at a time though :(
I love these threads, reading about other peoples greys makes me happy :)
