Have any of you read it by Clive Wynne?
Lots of the stuff we already know and studies that are well known eg Belyaev’s “domesticated” foxes and Coppinger’s hypothesis about wolves.
Also interesting bits about dogs and wolves and how much time they spend with unknown humans unsurprisingly dogs choose to spend time with unknown humans.
I was fascinated to read that genes of domestic dogs are similar to those of people with Williams Beuren Syndrome, which creates behavior described as “hyper social” and with “exceptional gregariousness”. That describes most Golden retrievers I have ever met!
Loved the bit too where Wynne argues that domestic dogs have a stronger social hierarchy than wolves. Read it before you think he is talking about dominance
.
A really interesting book
