So it's been a glum Monday and in searching for a photo for another thread I came across my favourite picture of Battenpup when he was a wee bairn. It cheered me up instantly.

Puddingmama, my heart goes out to you. What a devastating shock. I am so, so very sorry.

I knew none of mine as puppies, as all my babies are rescues.....but just needed to pop up and say

It was a very big shock. He had swallowed the bee and it had stung so far down his throat the vet couldn’t see it until she sedated him and used a tube to look. By that time there was a lump in his throat the size of a plum and the swelling in his chest had pushed blood into his lungs. There was no saving him despite their best efforts. The vet said she hadn’t seen swelling so bad in 30 years of practise. He was my pride and joy

I am still convinced my girl is the prettiest in the world but this thread has made me smile. The country may have gone to shit but whilst there are pictures like this, life is ok!
