We’re currently on holiday and have taken out 10 month old dog. He sleeps at home in the living room and we’ve given up his crate. The last two nights in the holiday house he’s moaned and whined. I don’t know what to do with him. How can I make him feel settled whilst we’re here?

If you have a sofa long enough to sleep on, I'd be inclined to sleep with the pup for a night or two. 10 months is still just a big puppy for some breeds and he may well settle once he has got used to the new house.

Have you got anything that smells of home? Can he sleep right by your bed?
