Puppy first season - is this normal?

She is coming up to 11 months and is having her first season. It will be her last as she's booked in to be spayed in a few months.

She is so quiet and subdued. I've been away for a week and she's been with stbxdh (who says she's been quiet and calm, which is tends to be with him anyway), and she's like a different dog.

Will she snap out of it when it's finished? I feel so sorry for her.

Our pup was the same. She's on her period. I just looked at is as that's how we feel sometimes when we have our period. A bit sorry for ourselves, but of abdominal pain and a bit subdued. Bless her.

It lasted a few days then she was fine.

She'll be fine but obviously keep your eyes open for pyometra.

If she's a medium or larger breed, you might want to hold off spaying until she's physically and mentally fully mature.
