Elderly dog chest infection

My 12 yo male terrier cross has had two knee ops a while ago for luxating patellas
Where his knees were pinned and has left him with arthritis.
He has kennel cough which seems to have developed into a chest infection and is on antibiotics. He’s also been quiet wobbly and unsteady, and one of his legs is stiff and not moving well.
I took him to the vet just now and he examined his knees said they were pretty good and he’s probably wobbly due to the chest infection.
Has anyone else’s dog experienced this with a chest infection? I remember my elderly mum used to have a lot of falls when she had numerous bouts of pneumonia- could it be the same thing in dogs as
Humans?
