Tiny bald patch on Labrador’s leg

Hi

The past few weeks I’ve noticed my 5 year old boy frequently licking his front leg above his elbow and today I’ve noticed he’s developing a tiny bald patch.

He is up to date with his jabs as he goes to doggie holidays whenever we’re away and he’s always up to date with worming and flea treatments.

I’ve googled but haven’t come up with anything. I don’t remember him hurting himself. Just wondered is it worth going to the vet about?

Thank you

Could be demodex mites. Same happened to our dog and it was quickly fixed with a different type of flea/wormer thing

Dogs can lick areas that are painful and the licking can cause bald patches. I probably would take for a vet check just to be sure if it has been going on for a few weeks

Thank you. I’ve booked him in for next week. He doesn’t seem bothered bless him but I’ll get it checked out.

Just to update you - it’s eczema! Bless him. Vet said it’s quite common in Labradors.
