Any Vets around please...

Are there any vets around who can reassure me please.
Our puppy, now 13 weeks old was bitten by another dog 10 days ago. He had emergency surgery as the muscle was torn in his leg. He had 5 stitches and it's just not healing. It was stitched and left uncovered but there was hole that hadn't healed so the vet put medical honey and a dressing.
That didn't work so it's now been glued, another honey dressing and we wait another couple of days to check again.
I'm just getting so stressed about it all. Poor pup has worn a cone for most of his life with us and I'm so worried it's not going to heal.
Can anyone offer me hope, is the glue likely to work? Is this normal?
TIA

It have to heal by secondary intention which it will do it will just take time. In high motion areas it sometimes doesn't matter what closure we do it doesn't hold.

Thanks for answering. will it mean 2 daily dressing changes until it heals then? Poor pup hates the vets already and he's only just 13 weeks😔

Update.....well we've been to the vet, again
They have decided the wound is starting to heal, it's not perfect, pup still has enlarged lymph node near the bite and it still looks very pink...They have decided to leave it uncovered now and I have to wash it in hibi scrub twice a day.
So he still has to wear the cone of shame and no playing in the dirt!
I am tentatively thinking this is progress.
