No, I don't thinks its abuse. Maybe a little bit more heavy handed than it should've been (I mean, Italian Greyhounds weigh about 3oz, should could've just sneezed in the dogs direction and it would've fallen off the pouffe), but she did have hot food burning her through her trousers and was probably a bit stressed...

I would imagine that anybody who considers that to be animal abuse hasn't actually seen what animal abuse looks like.

Jesus. If that's animal abuse, my job would not be half as harrowing as it is...
Its likely the dog jumped down as a response to her arm pushing it, not that she knocked it off. Probably more likely to be harmed by eating burning hot food than falling off a cushion.

Slightly heavy handed for a delicate dog breed, but no harm done and I defy any dog owner to say they haven't had to push their dog's nose away from a plate of food on occasion!

Abuse? Err, no.

The first time I looked at it I was wondering why she felt it necessary to push him off as he didn't seem to be going for the food. But looking at it a second time it looks like he was about to stick his nose into the food.

I imagine it was purely a reaction to being burned by hot food and wanting to get the dog away from hot, very inappropriate food that caused her to push him rather more forcefully than she might otherwise have done.

I think anyone who thinks this is abuse is being rather silly tbh.

I see a dog pushed aside which then jumps off the stool of its own volition. No abuse. What on earth are other people seeing?

Yes, you'd think the rspca would have better things to do than tweet stupid comments about this sort of non event.

A little rougher than she probably intended & dog is also falling off, but wouldn't call it abuse.
Though as someone I know with about 4 Iggie's & all broke their legs from what is normally minor tumbles like falling off sofa scarily fragile breed.

What I thought was more abusive of her (though I think it had not occurred to her) was that in the episode the week before, her dog had just been castrated and she had been advised to put an icepack on his sore swollen op site for 10 mins at a time. She was putting an icepack on the poor thing but it did not appear to be wrapped in a cloth - the poor dog was lying back in her arms with its huge eyes boggling more than ever - the icepack must have been really painful without any covering cloth softening the impact.
