Can anyone help me reprogram my dog ?

I spent yesterday changing clocks all over the house. Ovens, heating timers, phones etc but have not yet been able to reprogram the dog. Dinner time is usually 6pm so I fed him at the new 6pm and he wolfed it all down. He then showed up at exactly 7pm looking for dinner ! Same with his walk. He was standing by the door at 7.15 waiting to go despite having had a long walk earlier in the day. Does anyone know how to hard reset a Jack Russell (or indeed any dog with excellent time keeping)

Have you tried turning him off and then turning him back on again?

Can you switch him off at the plug? Do a hard reboot?

He sounds great! I’m imagining his with his lead in his mouth by the door like a cartoon dog.

My dog is wild so I can’t give you any help at all.

You need to hold the button in for 10 seconds. It will do a factory reset though so be prepared to toilet train etc.

Loving these responses though I don't think I can risk the factory reset . His inbuilt clock has always been accurate to the second. Anyone else have this ? He also has brilliant satnav. We can travel 4 miles or 400 and he will always pop his head up when we get to the end of the road. Perhaps he's digital or a robot, now there's a thought. Robodog

ha ha, mine dog was veyr upset that I got up so early this morning, and was back alseep in his basket when he would normally be on the back door mat waiting for his walk. He seemed veyr confused that dd was getting ready for school, and generlaly half asleep!

his clock is abit vague though, dinner is 6 pm, he will start to look hopeful and nudge my arm anytime from abotu 4:30!!

Its not so hard in the spring, but making them wait the extra hour in the autumn takes forever!!!

This is one of the reasons why I don’t do a routine with our dog , breakfast is any time between 8 and 9;30 , tea is between 4:45-5:45 and walks are sometime in the morning and sometime in the afternoon .

He needs to be fully charged then walked backwards round the block 3 times, that should work 😂
Give him his dinner half & half 😉

@Floralnomad You are so right and I've made a rod for my own back. Combine excellent time keeping and the attitude of a Terrier and the battle is lost.

He must be a watchdog

In winter as soon as it gets dark outside mine thinks its bedtime, he is a staffy and his bed is in our room but he wont go in it until we aree all in bed, so he moans and has tantrums from 4pm to 10pm! Urgh now he is waking at 5ish because its getting light out 😭

My dog is never a minute late and she has things happening at set times seven times a day plus things happen when I go out and come home, so I'm very surprised she hasn't been affected by the clocks change. She even slept in waking up more than an hour after what would have been the right time.

Last year when I thought she'd be affected I moved everything by half an hour to break her in gently.

I’m hoping mine stays on the old time. Normally she gets up with DH at 5.30am, but he’s away this week from today so I’m hoping she’ll let me sleep until 6.30am, rather than waking me up by standing by my side of the bed and squeaking pathetically.

I was hopeful that from the clock change Ddog would sleep until 6. Nope, even on Sunday she still woke up at 5 (so technically 4am) all excited to start the day. HOW DOES SHE KNOW???

My dog seemed to get the change of time immediately, but like Floralnomad feeding and walking times are a wee bit flexible in my house.

She's never been a dog to leap out of bed at first light though. You can usually find her at around 9.00 in the morning having a stretch and deciding whether she really needs to pee or if she should just turn over and have another hour or so in bed; sleep usually wins.

She's full of energy when awake, but she does love her sleep.

My daft mutt is the same. He was howling at the food cupboard as if he was starving. I’d fed him 40 minutes earlier. Dumb dog!

I've had lie ins every day this week - embrace your defective dog!

Took the batteries out of mine, but they must have a secondary back up somewhere because they are still the same.

He still hasn't adjusted and is snoring under a blanket right now. I will embrace the peace and quiet 😆

Ours love their beds, so went off early quite happily. They're quite easy models to update..

Update. He is badgering for his walk at 10am when technically it should be 12 ! Perhaps he's just a faulty model or I'm being played 😂
