Labrador pad marking

Our 18 month old black Labrador has a white mark on his front left paw pad. Has anyone seen this before? It's brand new and he isn't limping or anything. Is it just like a callous?

We took our labrador to the vets with a growth between his pads, felt soft, warm, and was the same colour as his pads. Turned out it was chewing gum 😳 which was well stuck. Vet kindly cut out with no charge, are you sure it's not something just stuck on/in?

Thanks @BrokenWing the things we do for our dogs! No doesn't seem to be. Seems attached to the pad.
