Getting a puppy and need a new floor, what is the best combination?

Hi all, meeting a breeder at the end of the month for a pregnant bitch, so could have a puppy joining us late April.

But we also had a massive leak which ruined our oak floor and now have our hallway and kitchen floor ripped up, so need a new floor in the next 2 weeks.

As we will be puppy training a dog what do we do?

Get Laminate but just make sure it's waterproof?

Did any of your puppies ruin your floor? Or is their wee so small it won't matter? Or did you put puppy pads everywhere? Need a puppy friendly floor solution!

We have karndean and it has survived all the puppy accidents. It’s a cross between laminate and vinyl flooring so doesn’t soak up liquid like a suspect laminate might?

We have a hardwood floor, pup had plenty of accidents but it’s never damaged the floor

My laminate isn’t waterproof and it’s fine.

It’s survived housetraining and things like unwell adult dogs.

Thanks I think maybe I am worrying more than necessary!

We had a brand new floor when the latest puppy arrived. We bought an offcut of vinyl from a local carpet shop for £40, and created a puppy area at one end of the room - vinyl floor and a puppy pen. Bloody puppy came pretty much house trained and never peed on the thing...

We have lino and our puppy has ripped most of it up :(
No amount of gluing/nailing/stapling has stopped him. Waiting until he grows out of it to replace with laminate.

Careful of how slidey the flooring is by the way, my brother has high shine laminate and one of his dogs ran towards the door after hearing a noise, skidded on it and went through the glass door panel... oops. Luckily she was fine but the door wasn't.

That's a really good idea for using a section and just laying Lino on it until she if fully house trained.

We also have karndean and its lasted to puppies and children. Its quite pricey but came with 10 year guarantee.
