Dog is still asleep, very unusual for him?

Our KC pup about 10/11 months old is still curled up on my lap asleep. He got up at 7 as normal, usually he then eats breakfast and plays for a bit then sleeps from about 9-11, then wakes up and goes demented all afternoon so we go on a walk, play and then he crashes out about 3 again until DH gets home from work at 6 (I know I'm sad, he's not a baby but it's just his routine)

Anyway he got up at 7 slumped straight on the sofa, no internet in his food and has slept all day. I got him up to go outside for a wee about 12 and managed to get him to eat but only by breaking up a treat and mixing it in with his food. He just doesn't seem himself. Keep an eye? Or vets?

Hmm I have a KC exactly the same age and I’d be taking him to the vet I think (sorry). He definitely has tired days especially at the weekend but even then there are mad 15 minute bits, and eating isn’t a problem. I’d have him checked and hopefully they’ll say you’re being over cautious

Was anything different about his routine yesterday? Did he do more exercise than normal?

The other thing to consider is whether he's gotten his paws on something he shouldn't. Lethargy and a reluctance to eat can be signs of something as simple as as a minor stomach bug to a blockage - if mine was like that and it went on past lunchtime I would probably take him to the vet to make sure he's okay. Pups of that age really shouldn't be sleeping that much without good reason.

Thanks both. No normal day yesterday, same length walk as usual. I've got him up by throwing one of his toys around until he finally got up and joined in. After about 10 minutes he's slumped back on the sofa again. He's lying in one beam of direct sunlight coming through the window and has been moving into it.. I went to take him the vets and then thought he might just be sunbathing and being lazy. Will get him down there

Has he pooped today yet?

@DontMakeMeShushYou Just went outside and peed and pooped again and all looks normal. Straight back on the sofa in the sunny spot! After paying over £100 a few weeks ago for an emergency vet visit to get him to sick up some poo bags I think I may cry if I get another one for him to of just been sunbathing Just rang my vets and asked to bring him down and they said as he did eat in the end even if he needed a bit of prompting, and is peeing and pooping as normal they'd say just keep an eye on him. He sleeps in a room where half the roof is sort of like a conservatory roof and it rained quite hard last night, maybe that kept him up? Hoping it's nothing sinister.

I would take him tbh. It might just be he's feeling a bit under the weather but as it's gone on all day and it's nearly 3pm I'd be inclined to get it checked in case he gets worse overnight.

And YY to has he been to the toilet? If so, was it normal?

Maybe he's just tired - they do like to worry us don't they?!

And they do like to sunbathe too! Hope he’s back to his normal energetic, wriggly nightmare of a self soon (or maybe that’s just mine!)
