Any rescued greyhound owners?

My lovely rescued greyhound is 8.5 and the vet thinks she has early kidney failure. She was raced for 5 years before she came to us. We've been told 6-18 months is all she is likely to have left with good management. Does anyone have experience of this?

No experience but just wanted to say how sorry I am Flowers our lovely ex racer is sprawled out on the bed next to me, they really are very special dogs.

So sorry Flowers it's really hard to get a diagnosis like that, i've no experience of kidney issues as mine had a brain tumour but it makes you appreciate & make effort to enjoy whatever time you have.

A friends dog now has a home cooked diet after heading towards kidney failure from raisins, sure she'd joined a Facebook support group for dogs with kidney failure so that maybe useful.

Thank you both. I will have a look for the group. She seems so happy generally, it's so sad.
